An acquaintance whom I recently had the pleasure of meeting at a local arts event has been named Artist in Residence at a local contemporary gallery.

I met Mia Rushton when she was selling her wares at the Cake Walk recently and we later went for coffee. Mia has a successful Etsy shop and is an established artist having studied printmaking and fibre arts at Alberta College of Art and Design.

Today is supposed to be the opening day so I think we will head down there and check it out. I haven't been to the Alternator Gallery in quite a while. It is located in the Rotary Centre for the Arts downtown.
