Things are happening....

Things are really starting to heat up around here. The business is taking off.
There are a few things that have led to these developments and I feel that they really deserve honourable mention on the blog even though I'm not sure who even reads this thing, if anyone.

First off, I would like to say a big Thanks! to Sarah Murray of Fashion High for all of her great work. She runs the Honey Mustard Fashion & Media Services and is also the driving force behind the Fashion High arm of BALLE BC. I have never seen an organization that works so hard for it's members. Sarah's efforts seem tireless and it's really starting to pay off big time.

Fashion High has a booth at the Vancouver Home & Interior Design Show at BC Place Stadium. As a bonus, the Growing Up Cool fashion show for kids has been organized for Sunday at 2:00 PM. And GUESS WHAT! My designs are going to be featured in it! Can you dig it?

I am soo excited yet also running around like a chicken with my head cut off as there is not really a lot of time to prep. I am just going to keep plugging away at it and not miss this opportunity.

More big news tomorrow, but right now I need to get some sleep. Gotta be fresh in the AM!

A Few Gifts from last week.

These beautiful roses were given to me for my birthday las week. It was really a nice thought. I always forget how much I love roses until I get some. (Which is NOT very often!) Aren't they gorgeous? They certainly made up for the not so great time I had on my actual birthday. Next one I am not going to be going anywhere unless someone else is driving.

This was a great present that I got from Grandma Peggy (my would-be Mother in law). I have been trying to learn to knit, whaich I have had some limited success at. Knit. Purl. Not much to it, or so I thought. My biggest difficulty is when I put it down and come back to it and I can't remember where I am at. Anywho, Peggy gave me this awesome knitting project package that has just about all the things I need for taking it to the next level.

She even started a hat for me when she was over watching the kids for me one day. That is the green yarn on the pink sticks that you see in the bunch. What more could I ask for?

Portobello West time agian,

Thursday, September 21, 2006

It's time again for the Portobello West Market for September. I hadn't realized it is a monthly event until I saw it advertised somewhere that it is on again this Sunday, the 24th. I LOVE this idea because I really never have much to do on Sundays except clean the house and what better excuse to get out of the house than a market? I will definitely be there.

I was so happy to see at the last market that a long time friend Shelley of Blushing Designs here in Vancouver was selling her wares there. The turnout last go around was great. Maybe because it was the first event but I think this is just what Vancouver's market scene needs on a regular ongoing basis. Who knows? I might even check into it myself for selling my stuff.

Where's my Pot of Gold?...

A Summer Rainbow. Any day when the sun is shining you can see a rainbow! The kids absolutely love this. The picture really doesn't do it justice though. This is at the local spray park and provides hours and hours of sun in the sun. Now that Fall is almost here officially, I'll be missing days like this. Hmmm. But Fall is my favourite season after all. Probably because it gets me back into a familiar and much needed routine.

I can't believe - I'm this old

We have had birthdays and/or parties every weekend for 4 weeks now. Two more in the next two weekends most likely as well. When does it ever end? Lots of fun though. It keeps us busy enough that we haven't even entertained the idea of going to the evil place just blocks away from us. Thank goodness I have the kidlets trained not to ask for the stuff anyways as they say it's unhealthy and never eat it. If you want a bit of fun check out the do-it-yourself sign like I made above. Hoots!

Time seems to be going by at break-neck speed these days. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I just turned (gasp!) 35!!!
The whirlwind of back to school is finally over. I can't understand how it all gets so jumbled up when I am trying to keep things simple. I love the fact that we live only blocks away from the school so we can walk there in a few minutes. We've even managed to get there on time. Except for that one day. At any rate, HUGE improvement from last year. And to top it off I'm shuffling 4 kids along instead of just my 2 as I am doing morning care for the kids I watch. Makes for a hectic start to the day but that's okay. It is also more entertaining.

The usual business is all back in full swing, except for Sparks (Girl Guides) which has sign up this week. All the other afterschool activities are gearing up as well. T is back at preschool, four whole afternoons this year so I'll actually have some time to do something. It'll be gym & outings for us in the AM and school for him and work for me afternoons. Yay! Things are shaping up!
